Serving Bayside

Accomplishing the work of the church

One of the best opportunities for service to Bayside Presbyterian Church is to join one of our ministry committees. Our Session has formed 9 different ministry committees in order to accomplish the work of the church. Each ministry is led by a member of Session, and every session member serves on one of the committees. In addition to session members, each committee is comprised of other members of the church.

All of the committees would welcome new members to the committee to help them accomplish the work of the church. The committees meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm at the church. This common meeting time for all the ministries is preceded by a gathering time of prayer and announcements important for all committees. Please contact the moderator of the committee you are interested in helping.

Contact the Church office for church policies and reports.

SERVE THE BODY

Ministry Committees

COMMUNICATIONS

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

Moderator: Nancy Guy, ivguys@verizon.net

The Administrative Support Ministry is responsible for ensuring that Bayside has the appropriate staff to support the mission and vision of the church.  In coordination with other ministries they provide support, guidance, performance reviews, and strive to ensure effective communication among all staff members.  This ministry is particularly interested in individuals with a background in Human Resource Management.

PRACTICAL NEEDS

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Moderator: Lynne Owen, ljowco@cox.net

The mission of Community Service is to assist those both inside and outside our church who are unable to provide the essentials of housing, food and clothing for themselves.  As we do so, we endeavor, through example and personal interactions, to provide optimism for those who are also “poor in spirit.”  Please contact the Moderator if you would like to join our wonderful Ministry.

BETTER TOGETHER

CONGREGATIONAL CARE

Moderator: Paula Jesberg, pakeje36@aol.com

Congregational Care is the Ministry that oversees the nurture, care, support and fellowship of the congregation.  As a church family we meet the charge expressed in our Mission Statement to "provide a supportive, loving, and caring ministry to and with one another.”

EVERY NATION & TRIBE

GLOBAL MISSIONS

Moderator: Karyn Simonelli, karyn.simonelli@vbschools.com

The purpose of the Global Missions committee is to share the love of God in this country and across the world by identifying, planning, and leading special projects in which this congregation can participate at a national and international level.

IRON SHARPENS IRON

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Moderators: Cherokee Adams, csierraadams@gmail.com

The Christian Education Ministry is responsible for providing and coordinating opportunities for Christian Education and encouraging the continued growth in knowledge and understanding of Bible theology and the history of the church.

PEACEFUL SURROUNDINGS

PROPERTY

Moderator: Bob Liebau, bob.liebau@gmail.com

Bayside Presbyterian Church encompasses 65,000 square feet of building sitting on five acres of grounds.  It is the responsibility of this ministry to oversee the cleanliness, maintenance, repairs, and updating of the equipment and facilities.

FINANCIALS

STEWARDSHIP

Moderator: Jay Muscatello, jaymuscatello@gmail.com

The Stewardship Ministry combines the functions of two previously existing ministries: Finance and Commitment.  Thus the Stewardship Ministry is responsible for overseeing the "life-cycle" of our church's financial assets:  from the pledges that result from the annual Stewardship Campaign to the weekly accounting for the offering by our Tellers and finally the disbursement of our funds through our Session Ministries in accordance with the approved Operating Budget.

MORE THAN MUSIC

WORSHIP

Moderator: Chris Pascuzzi, sewscuzzi@gmail.com

The Worship Ministry coordinates and prepares our services of worship so that we as a congregation can seek to know and do the will of God through faithful participation in meaningful worship.  Each Sunday, we prepare the Sanctuary for worship and participate as Lay Readers, Greeters, Ushers, Acolytes, Praise Team and Choir musicians, flower arrangers and provide AV support.

INVITATION

EVANGELISM

Moderator: Rose Ann Wehr, rosienvb@cox.net

The Evangelism Ministry strives to provide opportunities for the Congregation to learn what Evangelism is and to practice it.  We want members of BPC to be able to articulate their faith, to witness in word and deed to the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and to invite people into a new life in Christ.
