| Serving the community in which we live is important in the life of our Youth Program. Service projects, both within and outside of our congregation, are announced as they are scheduled. Past projects include "Random Acts of Kindness", "The Dwelling Place", "Serving the Homeless", sandwiches for "St. Columba Ministries", and service to groups within our congregation. | ||||
|
|
||||
| A highlight for many in the congregation is Youth Sunday, where young people lead the entire Service of Worship, including writing prayers, selecting and leading songs, selecting Scripture, and delivering the message for the day. The day is a wonderful day for young people to share God's Word as they hear and interpret it. | ||||

| *Youth Connection Topics are based on age-appropriate groupings. The following will be topics through December unless otherwise indicated in the calendar: | ||||
| Friends (6-7 Grade) - Who are the most influential people
in a student's life?
Parents, teachers and pastors would like to think they are the most influential in a student's life, but students spend more time interacting with their friends than with anyone else. Friends influence every part of students' lives - how they act, what they wear, what they say, and most importantly what they believe. 1. Loneliness 2. Peer Pressure 3. Comparisons 4. Identity |
||||
| Choose (8-9 Grade) - What's the most spiritual thing
you will do today?
Pray? Reading the Bible? Serving? How we decide to express our faith is up to us. The power of choice is one of the most important elements of our spiritual journey. Students are constantly faced with life-changing decisions in their relationships and faith. In this four-session video Bible study, Marcus Goodloe introduces Biblical principles to help students make wise choices amidst a chaotic culture: 1. Choosing Faith 2. Consequences 3. Choose Your Reaction 4. What is Your Purpose? |
||||
| Paul in Rome (10-12 Grade) - Has anything really changed
in 2000 years?
Students in America are growing up in a culture that places high emphasis on entertainment, politics and self. It's increasingly difficult for scriptural Truth to cut through the noise and sink into the hearts and minds of this next generation. In these four video sessions, David Nasser uses the life of Paul to highlight how followers of Christ can stand up to cultural "norms" and stand firm in Christ. 1. Culture & Faith in Conflict 2. Not Good Enough? 3. Keep the Faith 4. A Picture of Your Life |
