Dr.
George Fitzgerald, the Stated Supply pastor at Bayside is a native
of Birmingham, Alabama. He is a graduate of Huntingdon College, Montgomery,
Alabama, with majors in Math and Psychology, of Columbia Theological Seminary,
Decatur, Ga. with a Bachelor of Divinity, and Union Theological Seminary,
Richmond, Va. With Master of Theology and Ph.D degrees in Historical Theology.
He was pastor of churches in Birmingham, Alabama, Roanoke,
Virginia, Columbia, Tennessee, Bristol, Virginia and Chester,
South Carolina and has served as an ordained minister for 52 years. This
is the fourth time he has come out of retirement to serve a church.
He
and his wife, Stella Biddle Fitzgerald, live in the Kempsville area of
Virginia Beach, and have two grown children and two grandchildren. George
is a member of the Presbytery of Eastern Virginia and currently serves
on the Steering Team to develop a new structure and mission for the Presbytery.
Stella
and their son, George and his family are active in Providence Presbyterian
Church, Virginia Beach, and their daughter Ann and her husband are Presbyterian
ministers serving in a new church development in Conover, North Carolina. |

Rev.
Eleanor Norman will be serving as our Temporary Supply Associate
Pastor beginning March 8, 2010. She comes to Bayside from Hidenwood Presbyterian
in Newport News. |

Kathy Armstrong,
Director of Preschool
With a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Kathy graduated from Old Dominion
University in 1980. She returned to ODU in 1992 through May 1994 where
she completed another 60 hours and earned a teaching certification for
grades 4 – 8 with an emphasis in the areas of math and science. Kathleen
has been a teacher in the 5-day fours class since September 1994 at the
preschool. She became Director in June 2005. She has been married to William
(Bill) since January 1982. All three of their children attended Bayside
Presbyterian Preschool starting with Robert (Bobby) who graduated from
James Madison University in May 2004 and now resides in New York City.
Their second child is Bay who attends Old Dominion University and graduated
from Bayside High in 2003. Their daughter Laura graduated from Health Sciences
Academy at Bayside 2006. Kathy enjoys reading, walking and spending time
with her family and friends. But most of all, she enjoys being with all
the wonderful children of our preschool. |

Katie Grant, Director
of Music, is a native of Virginia who earned her Bachelor and Master
of Music degrees from Indiana University, and studied organ with Clyde
Holloway. She later earned a Master of Arts degree in Church Music and
Christian Education from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education,
where she studied with David McCormick. She is an active member of the
American Guild of Organists, and has served churches in Indiana, Virginia,
South Carolina, and West Virginia. Since coming to Bayside in June of 2000,
she has become active in the Tidewater Chapter of the American Guild of
Organists, as well as managed the busy, multi-faceted music program at
Bayside. Her son, Tommy Grant, is a graduate of West Virginia University
in Morgantown, WV. Her interests include gardening, folk music and dancing,
languages, travelling to new places, and meeting people. |

Dan Wiard, Director
of Education, is a certified educator with twenty plus years of experience.
He holds an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master’s degree in
Christian Education. His previous ministries include serving as an educator
in both small and large churches, plus serving on a Presbytery staff as
educator. One aspect in ministry Dan particularly enjoys is working with
young people. It is not unusual to find Dan "playing" with the youth, whether
it is a game of mud football or a game of chess; it's all a part of the
work he enjoys. His favorite food is lasagna. His favorite sport is "anything
with action and you don't have to jump too high! Cycling is GREAT!" His
favorite "Thing" to do away from work is to spend time with wife and kids! |

Tracy Davis,
Treasurer, Tracy and her husband Neil have a son in college and a daughter
who is a senior in high school. Tracy has been a member of Bayside for
21 years and has been involved in just about all areas of the church's
life. |
